Repaint Wdp?

Was wondering if anyone ever thought of repainting their car. My paint isn't the greatest (lots of rock chips and scratches from highway) And various dings from parking lots. I parked next to an audi the other day, and noticed how yellow my paint looks. I know to do it properly, it'll cost a lot. I was thinking of getting mine painted the audi white since my friends dad owns a bodyshop and can hook it up. Any input on that?

A lot of folks have done it. Going custom IMHO is the way to go e.g. Audi white as you refer to it.

What about Honda Championship White? I think that looks better than WDP.

Paint code: NH-0.

Championship white is nice, but I'm looking for more of a white white. Ibis white looks to be the right choice for me. Or the bmw white.

A proper RnR job will run $3 - $5k

If you have the money, go for it, but man...what a tremendous waste of money...

He's got a Honda product, hence my suggestion for Championship White.

But, it'll be cheaper to keep his car the same color.

WDP has a slight yellowish to it because of the added pearl. IMO GM's white pearl is really yellowish depending on how the light hits it.

Plain white such as alpine white won't look good on the 3G, it needs a metallic or pearl paint to it.

I like Audi's Ibis White, also BMW's Mineral White Metallic!

Hey, WDPUA6 why don't you take it somewhere yo get detailed first. Have them clay, compound, polish, and protect it. It shouldn't cost more than $250 and you might me surprised how good it will look. Rock chips happen to everyone and aftermarket paint chips easier. So you will get some nasty ones in no time.

Lots of whites, including WDP actually have solid yellow toner tint in the mix. So the yellow can come from both the solid base tints, and the base pearl tints.

Lexus knows how to do pearl whites.

Is it possible to get OEM paint rather than aftermarket paint? How much of a price difference would there be (percentage difference)?

There really is no OEM paint for Honda. Honda buys the paint from the top paint manufacturers. It's comes from companies like PPG, BASF, Dupont, Spies Hecker, ect.

BASF RM Diamont is the paint line I have the most experience with, it's a quality line. They offer a lifetime warranty on the paint materials, if applied by a certified BASF paint tech. The most important things are to have a good painter, with good paint.
