Removing the wood trim

Good evening everyone,

I was seeking help in removing some trim off my car. I have a project planned and want to remove all the wood in my car. By all the wood I mean the wood on the door panels and the wood under the shift knob+the cubby where you can store quarters in.

Also does anyone know how easy it is to remove the aluminum trim pieces?

Thanks in advance,

(I did try searching but yielded no results, I went on google and also yielded no results).

for the shift knob area just use a flathead on the side and it will come off

Most of the trim in the center console is held in place by clips... use a butter knife with a rag or electrical tape on the end. Better yet pick up a set of trim removal tools from harbor freight. As for the door trim... that might be part of the door panel itself but dont quote me on that.

The aluminum is easy. Like djdonte said, take a butter knife, put a towel or rag or something on the tip of it (so it won't scratch the surface of the aluminum), slip it between the trim and the console on the side, and twist it. Once you have enough pried up to get a hold of, you can pull it by hand. Around the bend/corner part, theres some strong ass clips in there, just give it a nice pull, it shouldn't break.

Bumping this up again because I am confused.

I need to know how to remove the wooden cubby where you put the coins in.....and the trim that surrounds the gearbox. You guys are saying just to pry and it will pop off? What about the cubby?

And the door panel wood trim....any ideas?

For the silver trim thats NOT on the door panels meaning the one thats near the vents.....it just pops off?

Please let me know, I don't want to break anything haha.

I just converted to the CF trim from the wood trim. For the center console shifter and cubby trim, you have to disassemble the glove box to get to a screw that goes to the side panel that needs to be removed. The door panels need to
be taken off for the trim on them, however it's really easy. There are like 10 screws that need to be removed, and the trim will come right off.

There's a tutorial on the forums somewhere, that's how I managed to figure it out.
