After heavy use of my clay bar with some detailer, here's the end result.. Only scratches remain. To help protect until I can get it repainted (a few scratches will surely begin to rust in the near future), I used carnauba wax and then used 3 coats of Plastidip glossifier to seal it.

Sorry to bump, but this is top of Google for "04 Acura tl shave emblems.

Regular masking tape will pick up and remove even really aggressive adhesives. Just hold it with both hands and dab it with your thumb as the pressure.

 

I use a heat gun and fishing line to remove the emblems (I have a detailing business and do this pretty regularly) and then my thumbnail to remove most of the thicker leftover adhesive. Then I switch to a polish and microfiber towel to remove the last of it, then switch over to a DA polisher to shine it up. On older cars you do have the problem of ghosting and the paint underneath having raised up at times so obviously the best time to do it is when the car is new.

Partially debadged the G35, the INFINITI had to go! Left the Infiniti logo and G35. Accord, I removed the ACCORD and the V6 emblems, can't remove the H without leaving holes. Cleans up the back end nicely.

Emblems are emblems. You can place any emblem on any car/truck/suv/etc.

Also, to answer your quote, for the 3rd Gen TL there are NO guide holes on the trunk. Look at post #41
