Rear wheel well
Rear wheel well
I know we have the felt in the rear wheel well. Today I was looking at it closely and noticed that the passenger side has more felt covering than the driver side. This is the part that's facing the rear bumper. Does anyone else have more felt on the passenger side than the driver side?
I'm thinking maybe it's because it's where the gas tank is so it doesn't have felt there.

I am amazed at the things people notice - I haven't noticed any diff, but then again, this is something I would not be hunting down. Maybe they put more felt on the passenger side so when milady is riding shotgun, her better high frequency hearing will not be offended by the TL's buzzing and creeking, which by some accounts is the dominant thing they notice. :boinkugh:
I think it is cool that they out that stuff back there, rather than cheezy rubberized undercoating. And the fact that the rear wheel wells completely enclose the wheel makes me wonder what peeps see in those horrid "mud guards"?

I noticed that phenomenon last week when I was installing my horrid mud guards, but thought little of it until your post. I doubt that the gas tank is a causative factor since it is located in the center of the car. Perhaps there were two "fenderwell designers" involved that didn't communicate very well. Then again, maybe this will remain as one of life's great mysteries.
