Are the rear sensors color matched for the various colors on the TL?

 

Yes they are color matched. However, in colors other than the NBP, the holes seem very noticeable. From what I have read, the system works well. I decided to pass on the option because I do very little parallel parking and I wasn't happy with the aesthetics of the design. Considering the TL's poor sight lines to the rear, if you do a lot of close parking it might still be a worthwhile option for you. My .02.

 

I dont think they are color matched at least mine werent, or it could just be my dealer screwed up -- Their black but on an wdp doesnt look bad at all. On my other vehicles they are matched to the body.

 

most cars will have color matched, i've seen few color matched.

 

I passed on the Backup Sensors because asthetically, they stick out like sore thumbs on any color but Black. If you look at the factory Backup Sensors on ANY other car, you'll see they blend in with the car's color.

What were the designers of the TL's sensors thinking?

 

There are individual part numbers for each of the body colors. If your dealer installed black sensors in your WDP bumper, and you find you don't like them, you should have him replace them with the WDP colored ones, or at least get them painted.

 

Mine are matched perfectly. The black everyone complains about is lack of light as the hole has to be big and deep so the sound waves will give more distance on the back ones for backing up (as opposed to the sides). Quite happy and they will be on all my future cars, along with navi.
