Rear seat removal

Was wondering if anyone has removed their rear seat and what steps to remove it in. I had one baby seat (forward facing) and now have to put a rear facing seat in as well. With the rear facing on the passenger side rear only a very small person can fit in the front passenger seat. I'm thinking of removing the rear seat completely until the newborn is old enough for a front facing and I'll be fine. Put some plywood or MDF in and paint it black and hook up the latch seats only. Thanks in advance.

Removing the seat and putting a piece of wood would not be safe for you children. If you're in an accident a blow to the car will inflect more damage because the hard surface of the wood. Car seats are designed to sit on top of the seat allowing the safest possible bubble for the children.

Buy a car seat that fits. Simple fix. I know a lady at work that has a TL and she fits it no prolbem the way you described and people can use the other seat.

That is a good point and I didn't mention I have several yards of high density foam that I wanted to put between the seat and whatever I put under the baby seat to cushion them.

I forgot to use the search feature and it has been a lifesaver in the past.
