Rear Rotors Showing Strange Pattern

MY 04 TL has 6K miles, and was broken in properly. The rear rotors are showing a rough surface. Also has an almost rusty appearance, even though the car is driven daily. There is no glaze or sign of the disc pads wearing a pattern into the rotors. The front rotors on the other hand show definite normal wear patterns from the pads. Is there something wrong with the rear rotors or is it just too early to get wear patterns? Could it be that the pads are not making proper contact? The car stops well, no unusual sounds or shudder. Anybody have similar experiences? Your input is appreciated.

Try a few panic stops from highway speeds in a safe location. My rear rotors had something similar going on, and the panic stops got them to normal. In the process, a bunch of brake pad debris (dust and grit) let loose from the rear pads (much more than fronts). My dealer prep included silicone tire spray on the rear rotors which I suspect contributed. The brakes stopped much better after this process.

Bring it to the dealer, too risky to do yourself
