Rear quarter panel

Hello! I have a 04 TL and I noticed that someone backed up into me. Hit and run I guess. They damaged my rear quarter panel. The damaged area is right next to the beginning of the bumper. Does anyone know how much this can be repaired for ?

We can't give you an estimate....1) we can't we see damage. 2) different shops charge different amounts, because of different repair methods according to how much damage.

My body guy didn't charge me to hammer out a big ass dent above the tail light, only cuz he hooked it up.
He told me it took at least 5 hours to bang out.

You are better off calling insurance to take care of it

Well seeing your age (21) claiming it on insurance as a hit and run could work, but did you call the police and at least get a report written up? I'd check with your insurance company and ask - I know how high rates can be when you are young, male and especially if you have any moving violations on your record and even worse if you are single.

I'd get estimates from local body shops - you can get recommendations (and warning to stay away from certain places) online and local resources. I don't know how it is where you are, but around here, the body shops (especially the smaller independent operations who don't deal with large amounts of insurance claims) right now are getting slammed with people who want their cars painted / fixed before the weather gets nice and car show / car club scene kicks in to gear.

what I learned over the years is; its better to call insurance to get it fixed correctly.(EVEN if that comes with a penalty of higher premiums. that's just how life goes)
ESPECIALLY since it was a hit and run. the law is on your side on this one

Since cant see pic of the damage does this require a body shop or can a good PDR guy step in?

i backed into a tree. which damaged above the taillight...the duckbill part of the metal.
there was NO WAY PDR would take it out.
the metal had to be hammered and beaten back into shape

but agreed, since we cant see damage...there's no telling if it can be PDR'd or not

I was hit on the drivers side rear quarter right where that plastic tab piece snaps into the rear bumper I was quoted by a personal friend $800 and he said that I bet anywhere else would be twice as much and he was right 1500-1600 at 2 other places. Bro network see if you have friends that know people. With your age and the fact that you didn't report it your rates will go up. Your rates will go up regardless. Im not telling you to not call your insurance company in any way shape or form but you have to look at all options
