Rear Heat

For some reason I only have heat coming out of the rear vent on the back of the center console when the front heat is coming out of the vents that blow in your face. I get nothing out of the rear when the front is set on the defroster or foot heat. This sucks! For AC this would be ok, but why the hell would you want the heat blowing in your face making you car sick just to get a little heat to the rear passengers? Is this normal?

Yes, but it makes no sense to me to have the heat only come out of the rear when the front is on the setting, why not when it comes out by your feet to?

There are rear ducts under the front seats tied to the front floor ducts so heat is sent to the rear when the floor heat is set. The rear vents are tied to the front vents.
