Rear Bumper all messed up

The problem with owning a car in NYC is the bumper gets f$&%ed up with dents and scratches from people who shouldn't be driving in the first place. What is the most economical way to get this fixed?

You need to post pics of what's happened or provide a more thourogh description.

Pic would be best though.

Economical in NYC? Go to Maaco.

Quality finish? See a specialist and expect to pay between 500-600 for a nice paint job. I think we have someone here in the board that has a shop in the bronx. Look him up.

You will fix it, and it will happen again, and you know it.

I see a lot of people are using that superman cape thingy, lol, on the rear bumper. I gave up on maintaining my bumper. I just park for two spots sometimes

I purchased the bumper badger after the fact. still sitting at home collecting dust. I know it does not cover much on the corners.

make a note... the bumper badger will actually scratch your clear coat... the rubber backing is very hard... I put a blanket behind the bumper badger to protect my clear coat...

So those things really help? I don't maybe its my luck, but people that park in front or back of my car, go by sound, once they hear and feel the bump, they know they've gone to far. Idiots.

Stillhere, I'll follow your advice with the towel, I'm assuming they are sold everywhere?

thanks for the info. Now I need to find a rear bumper for a great price. Preferably one that is already painted (SSM). Any suggestions? Also where can I get a new front plate holder besides the dealer ($15-$20)?? Mine is smashed in and now I have 2 screw holes on my front bumper. might need a new front bumper soon too. Please see thread: someone tried to steal my headlights.

That's what I did. My 1 yr old rear bumper got cratered in Chicago from all the parallel parking. The real culprits though were the valets at my garage at my old apartment. I've seen them bump so many people's cars "by accident" Luckily all my damage was below the groove in the middle of the bumper so I wasn't worried because I knew I'd buy an A-Spec kit after I moved out of the city. I just it on last week and it looks like I have a new bumper. Bumper damage is less likely here in CT.

If you are going to pay $500 to repair a bumper, you might as well spend another $300 and get a whole bodykit? OK maybe not in Manhattan.
