Real A-Spec Kit?

So I'm about to buy this rear lip off of a dealer on Ebay in my quest to find the now discontinued Abyss Blue Pearl colored A-Spec kit for my 2005 TL so I can have a matching and sportier looking car. But I was just curious if there was a quick way to determine the difference between the real deal and just another knock off. Thanks in advance.

Price will likely tell you if it's real or not.

Also the eBay seller will likely be a dead give away with regards to whether it's real or not.

shieet, if it's ABS plastic who gives a fuck if it's real or not...

at this point and time; one shouldnt care if body panels are real or not...as long as it's the same material, an ABS plastic, that is able to bend and flex without breaking....

if it's under $250, that's a bonus!!!!!

if one was handy, one could go visit junk yards and yank aspec kits off all day, erry day.
then depending on condition, one could rehab the plastic back to great health

I wish, I can't find a TL in a junkyard around me.

I saw one up on Craigslist the other week with an A-Spec kit and blown engine (timing belt had broken). I offered to buy the kit off the car, but they had sold it the second day that had it up... Would have bought the whole car if I had some extra cash and a place to store. Oh well!

Ah thanks, didn't know about that site. Still the closest TL is 137 miles.

I'm actually quite surprised. I live right outside the city in Charlotte. It's not like there isn't a lot of people here. The traffic I deal with everyday verifies that!

Haha I know, it's not too bad. I also commute the opposite of the worst of it. Commute out of the city in the mornings and back in in the evenings.

So i presume the lip is prepainted and thats why your buying it? I'd caution that depending on your paints condition its gonna be a challenge for it to match. I say this as why not get an oem lip thats painted a different color and have a shop match it to your specific cars paint patina.

One other thing to question on the discontinued...if your going off the online sites theyre not entirely accurate. I found prepainted CGP parts I was told were discontinued. They were located at Honda Classic warehouse by calling dealer who actually found it for me and had it shipped to me. Not saying its not discontinued nor am I saying its available Im saying there might be inventory but without calls the dealers wont know and neither will you

The one vendor on eBay I saw selling the Aspec said in the discription that it was not OEM and was made from high resin fibreglass. No fibreglass for me.... Gonna swoop up from heel toe and sand it down myself then have it painted. Good luck keep us posted

UPDATE The A-Spec kit was indeed OEM, and the paint on the lip matches the paint on the bumper PERFECTLY! Now I just have to install it...

3g TLs are still valuable and part strippers will buy the car well before it reaches a junkyard. Only 2g TLs in junkyards.

UPDATE: This is how they turned out. Definitely gave some life to this base model
This is what a lot of people see when they are driving with me, FYI.
