REAL LEATHER SMELL (My Trial with LTT Leather Essence)

As with any other car fanatic, nothing beats the smell of a REAL leather interior. Sadly, though, we TL owners really don't get to enjoy much of this, save what little scent we get after a good detailing.

After reviewing about a dozen different products, I decided to give LTT Leather Essence a whirl...not because I read anything bedazzling about the stuff, but because I did not read anything bad about it.

So, I dutifully spent $25 to get this from the UK and hoped for the best.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:

Dear God. I seriously almost did. I cracked a massive shit-eating grin and forced my wife to smell it...4 times.

Gonna load up a swab and let the interior marinate overnight...but I am hoping the smell lasts awhile because WOW...the smell is INDEED without rival!!!

I'd like to see if it's better than the Zaino "Leather in a Bottle".

Well, let's not jump the gun here, folks...I'm going to apply 6 drops to the applicator pad tonight, let's see how everything lasts from there.

I will say this much, though...the scent really is absolutely AMAZING.

Yes. And PBW Leather in a Bottle. Both have pleasant, albeit short lived, olfactory half lives.

German cars with pleather tend to smell like crayons. I've worked on many and I can't stand that smell.

Nice use of Andy Samberg to illustrate your point.

Might be in on group buy if it's as good as you speak.

DAY #1
Volume Applied
: 3 Droplets
Results: Inconclusive. Not only was it 40-something when I put it in my car, it was 40-something when I woke up, and I simply don't think I applied enough oil to really produce any type of results. SO...

DAY #2
Volume Applied
: 3 Full Dots directly from the vial. SO tonight we're going to try a larger volume and see how things go from there. It's a bit warmer tonight, so hopefully by tomorrow evening there'll be something to report. Stay tuned!

PS - Really hoping this works, it does smell just as awesome today from the vial as it did yesterday.

I just got the new leather smell from Yankee Candle. They have scents for cars now. It smells like the real deal and small too so i can hide it anywere. Dont know how long it will last though, but it was only a $1.

I would recommend this stuff. I got the vent clip ones first, and put them in the rear seat vents over the summer. I suppose it's hard to judge it's lingering abilities if you're always cracking the windows so you car doesn't implode from the Kansas summers.

I have a couple of the ones pictures, may stash one under the seat now that it is nice and cool out.

Although just getting my car back from the body shop, I kinda don't want to ruin the paint smell that is present now. Hmmm, auto paint smell!

In for an update. Can't wait to hear...might buy it.

For now, as tacky as it sounds, Little Trees "Leather" scent (doesn't smell a thing like leather, but has a nice rich smell) and Zaino Leather in a Bottle work wonders. The two smells combined make me want to do dirty things. I hide my Little Trees thing between my seat and the center console.

Agree 100%. My sister's C and dads GL make me want to hurl when I smell them. Its not a dirty smell, its just a very strong and unpleasant smell that hasn't ever gone away.
