RBP and ABP?

Hey everyone I'm looking on eBay to buy the stock painted wing for my 04 ABP, only they have all the colors except ABP. instead they have RBP, color code B536P. Both colors look the same, so why is ABP a different color code? (B527P) and would I be fine buying the wing in RBP?

ABP and RBP are two totally different paint shades. From a quick glance, they appear to be the same, but right next to each other or up close, you can certainly tell the difference. RBP, which was used in the 2006-2008 TL, is a darker shade of blue that appears like a midnight blue in any lighting. ABP (2004-2005) has a different shade based on the light. (More so than RBP).

I don't recommend mix-matching your paint since it won't look good. Your best bet is to have it repainted. Unfortunately, Acura has discontinued most parts in ABP and RBP since such a small fraction of TL owners have that color. I'm running into the same problem with the A-Spec lip kit.

Thanks for the info. It really sucks that all preprinted parts are in every color but ABP. I see a lot of abp TL's where I live. But I'm told there's a vendor on AZ who sells the kit painted. I forgot his username, but do you know if it comes with the wing too, or is it just the lip kit?

You're probably thinking of Ack. In that case, last time I checked his group-buy, he's got no kits left in either ABP or RBP. The kit has three parts: the front lip, side skirts, and rear lip. The 'wing' is a spoiler, so it's possible you can find one from Honda directly but it won't be cheap from the factory. Why don't you look into a lip spoiler? I was never a fan of the lifted wing spoiler, and the lip you can find on Ebay painted in any color you desire (M3 Type for example).

Here is a (crappy) pic of mine... it's nothing major but it looks really clean on the trunk.

Yeah I bought one too, its an aftermarket one from Taiwan. I got mine for $33 painted. It does look like an M3 lip.
