random beeping?

does anyone else hear random beeps (from within the car) when driving? It sounds like the beep when pressing the button to give a voice command, but not as loud. I heard it a few times, and thought it was the radio (thought maybe something with XM stations), but it wasn't. I'm just cruisin on a highway, or down a local road, and then "beep". THought it might be a reminder for low gas, or maintenance, or something, but that's not it. I didn't really notice it until a passenger said "what's that beep for?". I said "what beep?". They said "there's some beep every so often...". Then I started noticing it. Just started noticing today, so, don't know if it's been going on for awhile or not.

Any ideas?

Are you sure it's not because of something you or someone left in the car? Maybe a cell phone battery dying?

I've never heard any random beeps in the car, but plenty of random rattles!

r u driving without your seatbelt

If you do not have the drivers seatbelt fastened when driving, you will get a reminder chirp sound every so often.

David

It sounds like seatbelt to me. I have tried to ignore it, but it just never goes away! But I've heard that the airbag will not go off or will work incorrectly if no seat belt is on. Plus, we all love "Click it or Ticket" :sqntfawk:

I think the car beeps when the gas light comes on. Not sure if it was the car or the cd that was playing. It has happened more than once tho.

not the seatbelt... when you drive without the seatbelt on, the MID turns yellow and tells you to fasten your seatbelts, doesn't it? I remember i drove without it before, when I was moving my car down the block...

beeps

My A1 service light just came on and I've heard a few beeps. Maybe it's the service indicator.

Got the answer

The 'random" beep occurs when your cell phone goes low. Figured it out yesterday.

cheers, pps
