Rain guards

Didn't exactly know where to put this but here it is. Who's got rain guard on there acura? I have an 05 Black TL and the rain/moisture is constantly flowing down the window sill right onto my armrest which gets very irritating. Do rain guards look right on the TL's with or without Tint? I'm looking to get them tinted here in the near future but if they look better without then I can pass on the tint

Window visors.

To the OP, most people on here use the OEM windor visors. They look great with or without tint. A few members have even color matched them to the car.

Its OEM or nothing for me. The aftermarket ones just dont look right. The OEM flow better and look like part of the car, especially if they are on a NBP TL or are color matched....or if you have tint. Some hate all visors, but the people who like love the OEM ones. The sun roof visor looks bad, but the window ones look great. I have them and I really like them.

Personally, I think that window visors ruin the clean lines of the car (unless they're black-on-black). Just my , but to each their own!

See I think the opposite. Since the shape of the OEM visors are so sleek and don't bulge out like aftermarket visors, I think they accent the lines of the TL and compliment the overall flow/look of the car well.

Once you see how the aftermarket TL rain guards look you may reconsider.

I purchased the ones you get at Autozone for like 45 bucks.
I definitely wasnt going to pay 145 for OEM ones even if it does "look better"

Once im inside the car it looks OEM to me anyway.

Aftermarket ones they sell at O'reilly or Autozone look like SHIT. They sell them under the name "AVS" (Auto Vent Shade) or "WeatherTech"

If you want WINDOW VISORS to just simply get the job done and block the rain than go aftermarket.

If you want functioning WINDOW VISORS that also flow well with the body of the car and even goes over the 3rd rear window than go for OEM.

When it comes to looks OEM WINDOW VISORS >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Aftermarket AVS / WeatherTech visors.

AFTERMARKET

OEM

Aftermarket DOES NOT cover the part on the door that is between the front door and the rear door. OEM Visor goes over it

Nice comparison.

The area between the front and rear doors is the "B" Pillar. I see where the OEM visors cover this plus the small rear window. Very nice and clean.

are the oem version easy for people to steal? I mean i have saw some that uses a tape thing which is kinda crappy. Do the oem fit into the window channels or they are place using adhesive?

3G Garage to the rescue!
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-service-department-aka-garage-questions-answers-check-here-first-553557/

More specifically: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...17&postcount=6

Short answer: They have both tape and tabs that run under the weatherstrip of the window channel. However, everything is easy to steal, if they really want it.

Yeah visors are pretty goofy looking. I cant help but cringe when I went through all the pictures above. Why import guys think of window visors as an appearance mod these days is beyond me. Keep the car clean looking and dont do it! When there is rain/moisture on the car keep your windows closed!!

Skip on the guards. They do nothing but take away the from sexy lines of these cars...even the OEM ones. Leave these for the 13 yr old Mitsubishi Monteros.

The OP actually needs the rain guards for its functionality and not its aesthetic appeal, so yeah...

WOW HOT TL.

I use to really hate them.

They have grown on me. Especially with tint on a WDP TL or a NBP TL.

Its so nice to open a window and not have water run in.

I would also only go with OEM.

I have changed my opinion

How much is my question ?

^you should have your opinion saved on a word doc so you can copy & paste each time a new visor thread pops up

I love mine... didn't get it just for aesthetics, but for use.. (yes, it rains in Cali)

If you plan on getting it, don't waste your money on aftermarket ones and do it right the first time

I have to agree with James, all the pictured TLs would look much better without those cheap plastic visors sticking out from the windows. I've seen another NBP TL-S on my way to work one morning with those things on and it just looks horrible.

Any places that sell the OEM without asking for an arm and a leg, working on a budget and if you didn't know Oregon is notorious for its rain!!!!!

rainguards are sooo jdm yo! haha actually they were very sought after for one of my previous enthusiast vehicles (galant vr4). i think they look sweet personally but can definitely see how people think they are too much. OEM for sure though unless you want to look like one of them Leer catalog to the max truck guys

While some people may not agree with getting visors because it takes away from the lines of the TL, I still like the looks of them on John's car.

Sure I would like to see what his car would look like without them, especially the way it sits now, but I personally don't feel that anything has been taken away from the looks of his car by adding them.

Putting rain visors on a hot TL is like putting nerd glasses on a hot girl. Sure she can pull them off, but its not 'cause of the glasses. I never understood why people who aren't smokers want there. I mean smokers keep a window cracked all the time, but my windows are either closed or full open.

Get OEM. Those aftermarket ones are like puking in your mouth and swallowing it.

I love window visors. I've had them on every car I've owned.

That being said, I always went aftermarket...but the OEM ones for the TL are very nice and IMO well worth the 145.

I bought them a year and a half ago and never looked back. Love mine.

IMO its not an aesthetic mod...Its not even a mod really lol. Its functional. Especially due to the shape of our windows; you CANNOT leave any part of the window open in the rain without getting wet. If you like fresh air in the rain or if you smoke, they're a great option.
