Radio won’t work

The 20A fuse was blown. I bought a new one but when I started the car, a lot of crackling and popping ensued and did not cease even when the radio was turned off. The man at the parts store said it sounded like the noise was coming from the speakers. I had to remove the new fuse.

Which specific 20A fuse was it? You likely have a short somewhere in your electrical system.

Mini Fuse

The replacement was a small yellow fuse from an assorted pack of minifuses

which # socket did you plug it into? Check the back of the fuse box door/cover for the #'s.
