Raceed some old school muscle
I was cruzing the streets late last night when i heard a loud rumble comming up behind me. I knew right away it was a v8. It pulled up next to me and sure enough it was a old school white mustang. Kid was driving it like he was hot stuff to. Probably his daddys car anyway. Anyway he romped on it a few time next to me and slowed down to my speed. I thought to myself I am going to get tore up by this thing. Well we come to a redlight and we both come to a stop. Kid revs on me and I think to myself why not. The light turned green and he pulled me off the line by a car and a half. Mid through 2nd I stopped him pulling on me and by the time I hit 3rd i was right next to him pulling away. Stopped at the end of third and I had a car length on him. The kid looked so suprised as i pulled by him
Anyway, I was relly supprised. This is what it looked like, probably not the same model but it was the same color and had similar stripes.

hha probably its blocky shape stopped it from accelerate fast at high speeds!
anyways these mustangs could be making 210 gross hp - 355 gross hp stock. But keep in mind that gross hp is different than net hp, and is always less than that of net hp.

on ramp and then merging into highway traffic) fun!!
Ive never owned a car that handled thus my simple pleasure. Taking a turn at
more then 5mph is whole new sensation for me. Never knew exit and on ramps
could be so much fun!

My best friend in high school had a '67 Mustang w/ an early nineties 302 in it. Raced my (pathetic) '89 Integra MT against it and actually didn't get that owned...surprisingly. My nose was in line with the back of his bumper. I'm assuming his engine wasn't very healthy

anyways...what I meant was that..back in the days, American car makers used a different set of rules to measure horsepower and torque, and they called the result as "gross hp" or "gross torque." Nowadays, we use "net hp" and "net torque," and these are measured differently, and the numbers are always LOWER. ie, 210 gross hp could be like 180hp, and 355 gross hp is probably around 300hp.
stock 302's sucked as far as power.
The 2 barrel was rated at 210 hp, the 4 barrel was around 270.
Ford was famous for using 2:72 ratio rear ends in those cars. (translated...sled)
Modded my 69 to about 300hp and changed to 3:55 gears, which made it pretty fast.
Never had good hookup though.
Anything over about 110 mph and your life was at risk!!
