Raced an R32
I was lined up at a light with a nice blue VW R32 last night. Before the light turned green I said to him that I was curious how bad he would take me. I have an automatic. We had a very even start, he immediately jumped out ahead with his AWD about a car length, then I was pretty much right there with him, then at about 90 MPH I'd say I was about 2 1/2 car lengths behind him. They have 240 horse for those that may not know. He was a great sport. Gave the thumbs up to him when I turned off, and I got a beep
I would have seriously considered that car if it wasn't a hatchback. If the Jetta came with that engine and AWD I would be all over that!!!

hey Rodney, do you have a TypeS or TLP? there was a post not too long ago about the R32 and i was pretty sure the TL should have an edge after take off. i dunno.
SSTS
*edit* i just found the older post. at 240hp/236tq i still think we should have an edge over the R32 since AWD is notorious for slower times (in general). i suppose it's up to the driver in reality but i think an un-modded TLS should be able to pull on an un-modded R32 (given the stats alone).
