Talking Raced a Honda Civic Si

Me and a couple friends were out late at night on the way back from the bar. I had a few too many drinks so the DD was driving. (Female by the way). I was sitting in the backseat when a blue (new body style) Civic Si sedan came to the light next to us. The girl in the passenger seat was pretending like she was flirting (lol) to the guy in the Si. Meanwhile my other friend is egging him on to race. Light turns green and we were even from the jump all the way to about 45ish when we start pulling...when we were about a car length ahead she let off. I think we got up to about 60. Not sure though since I was in the backseat. I honestly thought we were gonna lose seeing how we had THREE people in the car!!

Nice run! Sounds like the Si driver actually knew how to drive!

Haha, yeah. But it was my car..Satin, he might've had some mods you never know. I know at the 1/4 mile track I raced my friends I/H/E Si and I beat him by about 3 car lengths everytime.

Really? Your friend may need a driver mod then because with those mods and the right driver they should beat a 5AT TL-s without much trouble at all.

There have been a couple with I/RH/E in the 13s withOUT Hondata. With Hondata and DRs I've seen 13.5 @102. Not bad.

Nice kill! Those Civics can catch you off guard sometimes, especially the modded ones.

I played with a modded one Memorial Day weekend. Kid didn't even look old enough to shave, but he came after me. Three second gear rolls from 45-50 and I pulled hard each time. I saw him the next day and actually chatted at a light and he was all bummed he'd gotten beaten by a grocery getter, but said the TL sounded awesome. We then went from a dig and it was pretty close until I got to the top of second, then I pulled like the prior three times.

I've ran a few modded SI's. The closest run I had with one was my boys. Me and him are equal drivers. He has CAI/Skunk2 catback. He had my stepbrother in the car I had no one, so I gave him the jump each time. I would start reeling him in when I hit VTEC and pull pretty steadily. His car was quick tho, and it's the closest encounter I've had with an SI. From a dig I was about 1.5-2 cars @ 60 and from a 2nd gear roll (30mph) I was about 2 cars by 75 (he revved it and dumped the clutch I just punched it).

I had a run with a stock-looking SI once on the highway. He got on it and I thought to myself, is this worth it? After pondering for a good 5-6 seconds I downshifted and went. By this time he must've been about 6 lengths ahead lol. I obviously wasn't catching him at this point so I shut it down. We got off at the same exit and came to a light and he's like "Is that the V6?" I was like "Yea, you had a hugeee jump on me." He just smiled and looked back ahead Had he known what would've happened if we had an even start he wouldn't have smirked.

Another one I ran when I had just CAI I pulled pretty hard. We went like 5x from 1st gear/2nd gear rolls and it was just bad. I probably put 4-5 lengths on him each time. He's like damn, I was like it's the V6 he said Ohhh lol. He had I/E. Those things sound really good though.

I shocked an SRT4 driver the other night. He had a passenger and I pulled him by 3 cars from a 1st gear and a few 2nd gear rolls.

Yea he was actually cool. He told me it was stock but then I heard his exhaust and was like stock?? Wtf? So I went home and looked them up and they do sound pretty mean from the factory.

Ruby: When you went to the track you were stock, right? Any mod plans?

yes Sonnick I was stock and it was over 90 degrees that day and I was hot lapping it. I think I did over 20 runs that night. If it had been like spring or fall time then it would be a different story. Low 14's easy. Right now, I just plan on keeping it stock though.

Yea the heat has a big effect on ET/trap speed. Good runs.
