changing oil

so i've always changed my own oil in my cars. its easy and just like knowing its done right. however i was told that with TL the computer needs to be restarted by them to let the car know oil is changed. is there way for me to do that?

All you have to do is look in the Owner's Manual. It'll give you instructions on how to reset the MID. You do it right on your steering wheel.

Early versions of the 3G owner's manuals ('04 and '05) were missing a step in the MID reset.

o Select the Oil Life display.
o Select A or B odometer display.
o Press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds - until you see the display change.
o Press and hold the Reset button again for 10 seconds until the display changes again.
o Press and release the Reset button.

Pretty sure I have all of that right - I do it without thinking about it after I change my oil.

It's time to avoid that sales guy since either he knew jack or just straight lying.
