A question for you

I have a 08 TL Type-S and sometimes when I unlock the car and open the door I hear 2 beeps but most of time nothing. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Thanks,
Mike

just guessing here.. but do you have memory seats programed? and if so are you switching keys? The memory seats make a faint beep if they are auto-adjusting when you switch from driver 1 key, to driver 2 key.

If your using the same key all the time, the seats wouldn't/shouldn't change.

I only have driver 1 programed and I have only used that key to open the car so that is not it.

It is it. even if you adjust something small, the seat will readjust and it will make the two beeps.

It's the seat "re-adjusting" for driver 1 - even though no adjustments have been made. Happens in my car all the time.

It's due to 1 of 2 things - maybe someone else can chime in if they know. I do know however that my car loses connectivity to the remote sometimes. It's either just a random thing that it looses connection, or it's the times I'm at a buddies or my folks or something that I don't lock my car. I think it may forget who is driving, and just let you get in and start it. Then the next time you use your keys to lock and unlock it - it recognizes you as driver 1 again and tries to change the settings (even though it was you the whole time and nothing changed)

I'm leaning more toward the second option of the car forgetting who you are if you park it somewhere and don't lock it. I doubt that the drivers recognition just has some sort of 10% failure rate (since it happens pretty frequently - couple times a week at least).

Does this at least sound like I'm on the mark?

I think its just the sensors being a little bit off so it thinks it needs to adjust, does it my car as well sometimes

Could be mirrors too - the mem is for seat AND mirror position. If either changes, even just a little nudge, next time you unlock the car, it will readjust and say "beep, beep" to let you know it is done.

This is definetly what the two beeps are - why it is re-adjusting, .
