Question regarding frot brake pad installation
2004 TL automatic.
Does the pad with the metal hook on the back go on the inside or the outside of the caliper and does that metal hook face up or down? The reason I ask- I looked at mine yesterday and noticed they are different on each side.

the hook is the low pad warning tab- when pads get low it hits the rotor and makes a squeeling noise to get your attention
Its attached to the inner pad on each wheel
