Question on Parchment and Camel.
Quick question for those of you who own a Parchment or Camel interior.
How easily does the interior get dirty? Do you seem to get dirt on the leather and stuff on a daily basis?
When it does get dirty, is it a pain to clean?

I have white/parchment. So far no problems but just the two of us older folks and no kids. I put the Lexol leather conditioner on last week and will put 2 or 3 more applications on soon to condition it.
The lexol seemed to make the seats a little less slippery, which is good for driving because you don't slide much on the fast corners.
I also have a problem with my shoe dragging across the sill plate when I get in and and, and leaving some black marks. The outer edge is a softer rubber-like plastic so I was worried about cleaning it, but a little dishwashing liquid on a wet towel cleaned it up just great.
The original equipment floor mats are not very good, so I am planning on getting the black all weather mats eventually, even though there is no mud or salt here in Florida to worry about.

Thanks for the reply.
So, would you say that the parchment is pretty durable and will stay clean for a long time as long as I clean it like once a month or so?

I guess the parchment is as durable as any other color, just lighter so need to clean more often. Do you have parchment, because you say you have anthracite/ebony on order? Or are you thinking of changing the color? With anthracite, you can only get ebony, camel or quartz.

I have an Anthracite/ebony on order but I like the white and parchment also.
I was gonna give my dealer some color combo options and take the first one that comes in.
I was just trying to give myself options so that I can get into a TL earlier. I just want the car already. Everyt time I see one on the road, I get that Wayne's World think in my head. "She will be mine, Oh Yes, She will be mine" You know how I feel. heheheh.

I have a WDP/w Parchment too. For those shoe marks on the sill, I've taken to keep one of those travel packets of Fantastik cleaner wipes in my map holder on the drivers door. It makes it quick and easy to clean up those marks.

the reason I got the Camel was because Parchment was such a pain to clean all the time, IMHO Camel is only one step better though, but it does seem to be staying clean longer or hiding dirt better, same same really.
plus I just like saying camel

I use my leather coat conditioner to treat Parchment chairs twice per month.
Two sides of the bottom seat was ever tinted by blue-color jean, badly, in my first month. But it's effortless to clean out by water and conditioner.

Hukashi--ABP with Camel is what I have, and I am very happy with it (ABP DOES show the dirt, as long as you are ok with the upkeep). But Ron A's advice is good--the sill plate gets dirty, floor mats are poor (get the all weather, see if the dealer will throw them in) and use Lexol. After 3 months in a Pittsburgh winter, my leather looks new, totally clean.

Thanks doogles for the reply,
You wouldn't happen to have pics of your ABP/Camel would you?
I would love to see the contrast of the colors. How dark is the camel? Is it orangy? Or is it Just a smidge darker than the parchment?

Hukashi,
I don't have any pics yet but I will try to get some over the weekend--I am a photo buff but all of my money is in my film cameras. I have a cheap digital camera that I use for eBay, maybe I can take some pics after I wash it this weekend (it will be raining for the next day or 2).
The camel is a bit darker than the parchment, and I thought it looked very upscale. Is it a bit orangy? Maybe just a tad, but you won't confuse it with an orange. One dealer compared it to something he had seen in a Porche. The contrast is beautiful. Funny, I really wanted the Green with the camel, but nobody had them in stock in 6MT (the green would hide the dirt better). I called a dealer (2 hours away) on the last day of Feb. after my local dealers would not deal, and he said that he could deal on an in-stock 6MT ABP with Camel with 2 miles on it (I was stuck on camel, nothing else would do). I had not seen this combination in person, I hadn't even seen the ABP before. My wife had encouraged me in the past to consider it, seeing it in the brochures. I bought it over the phone, and when picked it up the next day and saw it the ABP/camel combo, I was very glad that I made this choice. Not everybody has them, & they shine like a diamond when clean, perhaps second only to the NBP. It does take some more time with the cleaning than with a Desert Metallic Mist or Anthracite as it shows the dirt pretty well, but when clean...! It makes it worth it. Buy two sheepskin wash mits and some Meguiars gold class car wash, and some micro fiber towels, and you can go from start to end in 30 minutes, including drying.

With two kids, my parchment interior gathers dirt quickly, although you really have to look to notice. Still, I knew this when buying and have not been unhappy (although my car is still way new).
I am still trying to figure out how to clean the cloth portions without staining or wrecking them...

To all:
When you say your parchment leather is getting dirty - how do you mean?
Dust? Lint?
I get in my car and sit on the seat - with feet on the floor. Please let me know how parchment gets dirty, especially being leather.
Taking delivery of 05' w/ Nav WDP/Parch at end of month.

Hukashi... I have NBP w/ Camel. And i simply luv it. And i have absolutely NO PROBLEMS ATT ALL with my Camel int. Oh wait... then again that would prolly be b/c i have the Camel All Season floor mats!!! :-) They were thrown in w/ the deal. So i just keep those on top of the regular mats and all i have to do is take them out, shake em a lil bit and the dirt, etc... just drops off. This last time i took some soap and water to clean but that was only b/c there were a couple scuff marks from my shoes.
So anyway i say that to say, whatever color you get, definitely get the all season mats b/c you then won't have to worry about the interior getting dusty or dirty. And if you're choosing b/t parchment or camel.... Definitely go w/ Camel! Parchment was just too light for me up against the NBP. Plus i luved the Camel better b/c it has the Euro look to it!!!

Yeah. What he said. ^^^
I also have Camel all-weather mats on top of carpeted mats. The shoe marks wipe right off with a wet towel- or your hand. As someone said, that trim piece is soft rubber and dresses up good.
So.. Do you like this?
If so, GO:

I can't take credit for the photo. That was done by John Chin (Canon1D), our resident Acura pro-photographer in training from the Bay Area.
But, I agree: Good job, John!

I have the Camel and chose it because it was different and I felt it is more masculine than parchment. I came out of a car with a black interior, it was just like having a black exterior.......looked great when it was clean !, always looked dusty and dirty!!

Drifting
Our RRP TL had parchment. The leather always seemed dirty, no matter how often I cleaned it. (Which according to my wife, was too often ) And by dirty, I mean there were dark streaks on the leather. (No, not brown streaks ). I think they were black scuff marks from people's belts and such. I also think sometimes the color from people's jeans were bleeding into the leather too, becuase I have found blue marks on them before. Most of the time, a cleaning would remove it, but the black scuffs were very hard to get out, and most of the time, I ended up leaving it.
The black leather on my other car on the other hand, never appears dirty, but we couldn't get our ABP TL with ebony, so we settled for grey. It appears to be better than parchment as far as keeping clean, but I'd still rather have ebony

Not a Blowhole
I have Camel, and got berber-style mats from AutoSport. Look and wear awesome.
I have DGP / Camel - it is rare and beautiful. I understand it is not a popular combo, which allowed me to negotiate a bit when these cars were selling for full sticker. Even my snooty sister in law said it was "beautiful - like a Jag".
