Question: Installing HID Fog Lights

Can anyone give me any advice on installing an HID kit for my fogs? The first time I had them done by a buddy of mine and he took the bumper off. I'm really trying to replace the lights without having to take the bumper off if possible. If you know anything about this, please let me know! Thanks in advance.

In other words, can I install my HID kit from the bottom of the car or from the engine compartment? I'm looking for a way around bumper removal.

you can do it that way, it will be much harder to route your wires and mount your hid ballasts. It is super easy to take off the bumper, its literally a few clips and screws and you just pull it off, once it is off you can tuck everything away and make it nice and neat. But if you really want to do it with the bumper on try taking off the underbody plastics and you might have more room..good luck

I just did this yesterday without taking the bumper off. I intended to take it off, but wanted to see if it was possible (I was bored...). It is, just pull the fender liner off the front part and tuck it back. Then install the HIDs. I mounted the ballasts on a nearby metal flange and tucked the wires neatly in the vicinity. Passenger side isn't too bad, but the drivers' side has the intake right there...so you really have 0 room and have to get it just right.

Just take the bumper off...I was just experimenting and it worked out. I'm in a UA6 with stock intake and Accord retro, so I don't know how much difference there is between my car and a TL-S.

You can do it without taking off the bumper but it will be a little harder. I would take off the bumper.

Its not too difficult with the bumper on. Just remove the splash guards underneathe or go in through the wheel well. At the most you should just be able to reach it by removing the front tires.

it takes less than 5 minutes to take off the bumper.

take it off and do it right the first time.

+1, the install will look cleaner if you can mount the ballast right and tuck the wires properly

^ I would like to add that the ballast has to be placed away from an possibility of water getting to it, like others said remove bumper and no worries.
