Question about the Trunk Tray

Does the TL OEM Trunk Tray fit nicely with the navi's DVD player in the back?

Yes it does!

Yep. The DVD player is set into the side of the trunk to the rear of the passenger side wheel. Tray never gets near it. Only problem I have is, to use the cargo nets properly, you need to cut the tray to expose the hooks. Kinda defeats the idea of the tray.

You can cut the tray neatly so it isn't as bad as you think. Just cut or drill a small hole the size of the anchor, screw the anchor into the hole, and you will have a neat installation.

It might not still be completely waterproof, but it will keep the dirt all in one place for an easy vacuuming job.

Really? I could've sworn when I lifted the tray, there were no hooks near it, so I just fastned the nets to the one hook that is up top on each side.

Look again. There is a cargo net hook under each of the molded circles in the trunk tray. These are the hooks you remove, make the hole in the tray, and then screw the hooks back in again.

If there are no hooks, then there should be holes where the hooks should go, which means someone took them out.

Or, they are easy to miss if it is dark when you are looking in the trunk for them, because they are black hooks screwed into the black floor of the trunk.

And here's a nice long thread from the 3G Garage on installing the cargo nets.

On my '05, the hooks for the side net that protects the DVD drive area are located on the floor of the trunk just under the right edge of the tray. There are four circular spots on the mat that outline where net hooks are under the tray. The previous poster that said that with care, you only need to make small holes and then screw down the hooks is correct. The tray should remain mostly water proof if care is used. I got around the problem with the small net by connecting the net and then inserting the tray. The right rear corner does not sit flat to the floor but it is not that bad and the tray remains removable and watertight and the DVD drive is protected from sliding items. I don't use the two hooks on the left side of the trunk floor.

Wow, learn something new everyday. I went back and looked for the dimples in the tray, and sure enough, the hooks were underneath. I guess I overlooked them last time. In my defense, my wife (for some odd reason), keeps 100 pounds of crap in the trunk, so it was dark in the trunk when I was re-installing the nets the other day. (I removed them because she needed to shove more stuff in the trunk )

I think her idea of keeping the car clean, is taking whatever crap is in her backseat, and tossing it in the trunk when she needs to lug clients around.
