question about tl airconditioning

Had a thought the other day and figured I'd ask it.

My Volvo had a feature where the climate control fan would stay on for awhile after the car was turned off, it did this to clear condensation out of the ducts so mold wouldn't form.

Does the acura do this?

TIA

Dave

It's a good idea. I wish the TL had it. I don't use the auto feature on the climate control because of the mildew possibility you stated. Long Island is very damp place which makes it a fairly common problem.

I started noticing the smell in my previous car (2001 CL-S) the first year I had it. Manually turning the A/C on when needed and turning it off a minute or so before turning the car off prevented it from being a problem. If I forgot to turn it off early I would run the fan on high for about 30 seconds after turning the A/C off then turn the key off. I still do the same in the TL.

Yeah, that's basically what I used to do before and now I guess after the Volvo. I probably use auto (did on the Volvo it was great), but when I get a mile or so from home I'll shut the a/c off and let the duct work temperature equalize with the outside air.

I doubt the weather in NJ is any difference from LI.
