I have an '05 TL and the remote is all beat up so I'd like to replace it with a switchblade. Everyone talks about heeltoeauto but how do you have them programmed? Do you have to cut them?

I already searched but all of the threads are really old and I didn't want to bump it.

The heeltoe switchblades have the 04-06 milled key on it. You have to take it to a dealer to cut and program it. When I had mine done it cost around 100 bucks at the dealer.

dealer charged me $50 to cut and program when i did this on my '06.

Thanks for the info. I already have 2 sets of keys and remotes along with the spare so I won't be buying a switchblade if it's going to cost around $200.

There's a vendor on eBay

If you send him your key he can program the new one and cut it with a fee

I think it cost me 150$. It was much cheaper than heeltoe.

thats an option too....cheaper for sure. im paranoid so the thought of someone i have never met before having the cut and programming info for my car freaked me out a little bit

Some local independents can cut your key. Call around and give make and model, ask for quote. Prices can be all over the ballpark.

Acura and perhaps Honda dealers can program it. Talk to them nice. I think all of your keys will have to be reprogrammed together. G/L

I took apart my switchblade key from heeltoe, and took the actual blade part to Lowe's and they cut it for free because they didn't know how to ring it up. I also took a transponder out of one of my old keys, and It works perfect to this day.

best option so far!!! I have a OEM Switchblade BNIP I purchased a few months ago, until I heard the cost behind what is required. Now, I wanna sell it. I really never needed it...Just wanted it for its "COOL" factor of having a SB like the higher end luxury cars...lol! ~ Impulse Buy

We offer all our services a la carte as well... if you have an unmilled SBK we will mill it. On any of our keys we can copy your old one and/or swap the chip. One stop shop, reliable, we have sold a few hundered of these at least!
