Question about painting brake calipers and rotors.

Question about painting brake calipers and rotors.
I was thinking about painting the brake calipers and rotors. I am looking for suggestions on what color would look best on a 2004 Anthracite TL. I have matching Anthracite drag Dr 19 rims with chrome lip.
So i was thinking red calipers and black rotors. I know that you cant paint the rotor where the brakes contact but you should be able to paint the center. any other suggestions with pics would be nice.
Thanks

I agree with the red looking tacky. I saw a friends tl with the non brembo calipers painted red and didnt like the look. So i think i am going to go with the black or dark grey. This would be better than the rust look they have now. Thanks guys for all your help. Stay tuned for pics.

Could anyone elaborate on what parts are being discussed when mentioning rotor Surface/Hub/Edge
I have some minor rust behind my rims and am considering a DIY paint job but don't know much other than the fact that the calipers/rotors are back there.
Thanks

If you mean the outer-side of the hub, a lot of manufacturers will put a coating on there, but for the most part they are not very durable and will rust - maybe just in spots, maybe worse. Better off to paint the entire outer-side of the hub.
For a lot of us, by the time we got around to painting them, it probably went more like, "If it's rusted, paint it."

I agree if they are crappy looking stock calipers the last thing you want to do is draw more attention to them with red or yellow paint. I got mine powdercoated satin black. I would recommend powdercoating. Do it right first time. If you paint, then you will most likely have to repaint them 2 times a year.

Did this a few years ago on my Legend. Used hi-temp engine paint, about 6 coats after filing, sanding, brushing, and cleaning with brake cleaner. Actually lasted 2+ years before chipping. May do this to my new NBP TL when the time comes...
