Question about Exhaust Flange

Ok sorry if this is in the wrong place but i recently went from an 06 tl with base exhaust to adding the type s rear underspoiler and atlp quads. so anyhow in case i ever decide to go back to stock and sell the atlp i also just ordered a set of type s mufflers and as we all know the catback piping is the same between type s and base exhaust and for whatever reason acura put a flange for easy removal of the drivers side muffler but not for the pass side.

Here is my question.. i am thinking about adding another flange to the pass side since ill have to cut off my pass side muffler and weld in the type s muffler... y not just weld on a flange and that way i can bolt it on like the atlp does and/or drivers side muffler does? What size is the stock exhaust piping so i know what size flange to get and has anyone else done this?

It seems pointless to do i know but in my case since im going to store this it would do better if i could have the mufflers separated from the pipes Except for easier storage and shipping if for any reason id sell it. This way its an easy bolt up application.

Makes sense. I can't remember the stock size but if you take it to a shop for it to be welded they will likely have everything you need.

My old shop charged between 3-5 dollars for each metal flange (gasket included). I would have also charged about 35 dollars in labor (1/2 hour) so adjust to your local hourly rate accordingly.
