Yes....probably. Although that's not the greatest of spots, that's a big dent, and the horizontal crease sucks. But I think they should be able to get that out.

Cost I have no idea. Never had to do any PDR.

PDR should do it. It should be cheaper than repairing this:

Maybe. I have a similar dent on my hood and they wont touch it because when it pops back the paint will crack due to the crease. I just found a new hood OEM for $50 so I don't mind. Hope it works out for you, keep us updated!

They quoted me $250 to remove the dent using PDR. I went to the dealer and 3 other PDR places. Each said $250.

a good PDR guy should be able to get that out...expect to pay $150-200 due to size and depth and on a curved surface.

i had a few barely perceptible dings from branches falling and hitting my rear qtr...PDR for the panel was $165.

I had my PDR guy fix both my Pilot's dent in the hood and my TL for $200 as a package deal. The Pilot hood dent scared off an earlier PDR who said similar stuff. My new guy uses a blow torch to warm up the paint and there was no issues popping the dent. Search for a thread two weeks ago in this forum and you'll see pictures- use LaCostaRacer for search key.

OP: yes I believe you will see a 90% improvement in that dent. I had one similar (again search for screenname to see pics) that my PDR guy fixed back in December.

^ No but Black is even harder. You really need to get a PDR guy that has some experience in any case. My first PDR guy came up in a Scion with the corporate name plastered all over it. Drilled under the hood (turned out in wrong place) and then said he couldn't do it because the paint would fracture and that the hood had a support gusset preventing access.

My current guy Mike @ DingDoctor.net has 15+ years and has seen all types of dents. He took a look at the dent and said he could do it and did in < 30 minutes time- no paint issues. He even used the same hole that the earlier guy had done even though it was not in the best location. That's the difference you get with the same dent. I had that dent in the Pilot for 5 years.

What I want to know is why PDR is so damn expensive. I understand it can fix it to like new but if it takes 20 minutes to 30 minutes. Why soo much. What exactly do they use that you couldnt do yourself with the right stuff

PDR is an "art" as they say. It takes a certain skill to know where to pull or tap down a spot. It's pretty time intensive too.

it's better to have a guy say he can't do it than say he can only to find out he made it worse or messed it up. it's a warning...go find somebody else that has more experience.

Think about the alternative. If you go the bodyshop route, you need to rent a car for a couple of days and live with non-factory paint which is usually trouble-some a few years down the road and may not match the rest of the car. All that will cost you a lot more than $200 and suck some time as well.

I don't think $100-200 is that bad to remove a dent in an hour. The PDR guys have to travel to/from your site, invest in a number of expensive tools, and gain their experience. You pay $40 for a 20 minute smog check in CA or $100
going to a dentist for a teeth cleaning. Those fees just maintain what you have and don't actually fix anything like a PDR does.

Tell ya what .. you go buy the tools .. then give it a shot .. see how ya make out .

Its not only an art it takes a lot of training .. then experience. I looked into it once and the payback for me wasn't there .. nor could I afford the time for the schooling. ( 2 weeks )

I think pdr falls in to the its like hanging drywall category. you can either do it or you can't its and art that takes time to get it right. getting drywall hung and finished is not cheap you pay for the skill of the guy doing it
