Question about Comptech Intake

Hey everyone

So I've done all the basics to my TL (tint, drop, rsb, int blue leds, cleared heads, smoked tails), and having a great time doing it, but I soon want to do something to the engine, most likely intake before others. After using the search function and going through a bunch of threads, I kept hearing about the Comptech Icebox Intake. Before, I was mainly considering the AEM slightly over the Injen, but from the little tidbits here and there, the Comptech intake sounds to be an awesome product. The thing is, I haven't found any info on it on the Comptech website (comptechusa.com) or much on these forums. Anyone have a rough idea when this product is marked for release? Any info would be greatly appreciated...

Fellow TL Lover,

here is a reply email from Comptech:

We are very close to finishing our Supercharger kit for the 04-05 TL. We have made an intake for that kit and we will try it with out the supercharger to see how it works. If it does work than it should be out by late spring.
Thanks

i really can't see the air getting that much colder in the TL. it already uses air from underneath the car to cool the intake temps. so any after market one will only improve slightly over stock. its not like the TL's stock intake is very restrictive and poorly designed.

I believe there is a thread discussing the difference between the "stock intake" vs "aftermarket intake". I think the stock Cold Air Intake is a bit more restricted than what the aftermarket offers. I got it because I like AEM, but my car does seem to accelerate a bit quicker...(perhaps because I also have other aftermarket parts besides just the AEM intake).

not to mention the OEM intake isn't a true cold air system
