Question about 2008 tl
Question about 2008 tl
i was wondering if my tl needs to break in before you can accelerate it faster?
and if it does how many miles?
Also my friend told me that its good to floor your car sometimes is that true?
i've been taking car of this car very carefully, and i don't want to do any damage to it
thanks for your help

manual should say somewhere around 600ish, i break in my 07 S2000 that way and gonna do that to my 08 TL Type S as well. And yes running your car through redline sometime is fine, its actually good to flush away all the carbon deposits sits in your engine.
check your owner manual for this info and other very helpful things to know-
like how the ABS and TCS work on your car-
it has a mind of its own and better you make friends with it now than discover it on the freeway in an icy situation

Mine hit 600 today on the highway and I finally hit it a bit. Still taking a bit easy until I get to around 1000, just a personal choice I guess.
Regardless, I <3 this car
I got it up to 90 and it didn't even feel like I was going that fast!

Not hating but...
I love how the kids on this forum always justify their parents buying them TL's or buying a TL they can drive because they get good grades and work so hard. That other kid who was asking about trading in his month old TL his parents bought for him for a TL-S tried the same line. Thousands of kids across the nation work their asses off both at work and in school and are lucky to have any car at all, let alone have their parents buy one for them. I graduated high school in '94 with a 3.9 GPA and my ride was a crusty '82 Toyota pickup that I bought with money earned scooping ice cream at B&R. Why can't these kids just admit that they're spoiled and be done with it? Then there'll be no more hating, just jelousy...

Homework sure doesn't add up to paying hundreds of dollars a month in a car payment
My kid is gonna work for at least half of whatever car he wants and i'll consider paying for the other half if they work hard. A new car for good grades, no way in my book.
What we have here is a failure to communicate.
For the "old" or so-called "hard working" people: There are A LOT of people with better circumstances than *most* of us. Some of them get TL's when they are very young, whether they earn them or not. Get over it.
For the "youngsters" or so-called "spoiled": Most people really don't care who you are or how you got your car. Quit trying to justify it, that just brings attention to your good fortune. If you simply act reasonably mature, you'll get treated like everyone else.
