Question
Guys,
I don't normally post questions.. I have a 2004 WDP TL 5AT w/Navi at about 14,000 miles. I replaced the brake pads with ASPEC pad (red color thicker pad) at about 12,000 miles. Since monday, whenever I hit the brakes, above 40mph, I would hear this loud sqeak.. The rotor isn't warped I believe but is that normal?
I have heard alot about the squeaking of the brembo brakes, but not sure about the ASPEC front pads. It's very annoying sqeak when I proceed to brake, now the funny thing is when I slam on the brakes or apply with force... it doesn't sqeak, only when I brake carefully, or simply tap it.
Opinion would be appreciated
thanks!

In the 7000 miles I had my car and the a-spec pads it never squeaked - I would say get it checked by the dealer - I, like you, have not heard of the a-spec pads squeaking. Perhaps they wear out by 12k miles...? Not sure..

Brake squeaking is the result of the brake pads vibrating within the caliper.
It can be cured with the addition of some brake quiet (some stuff that get's put on the back of the brake pads, not on the brake lining).
Best regards

I had the rotor re surfaced when I upgraded to the ASPEC pads.... but now after 2000 miles, it squeaks. The sound bothers me alot.. hmmm I could try to put the brake quiet like frenchnew mentioned... but is it because of the brake dust?

the a-spec pads are meant to replace the oem pads. if it bothers you, you have a warranty, have the dealer check it out and see what they say, they are the best judge of it. good luck

Honda (and I suppose Acura) always recommended MK77 (MolyKote 77% paste) on the pad backing and both sides of the shims....
i would go back to whomever you paid to install/cut rotors.

now the sound is presume to be from the gliding of pads not the rotors right? The rotors looks fine and so does the pads. It only happens when I've been driving the car for awhile (hence going on highway trips, long distance trips), first start in the morning or just started driving for the first hour or 2 doesn't squeak.
