a good set of tips will set you back quite a bit. List price on a lot of the tips magnaflow makes are between 50 and 100. I've seen them get as high as 150

Good tips will definitely set you back up to $150 a side!! you guys needs to appreciate workmanship and quality of the tip... most of the < $30 tips you find at Pepboys will rust within a few months and or the bolt on component will quickly corrode... if these tips are legitimate build quality, they'll be worth $75 a piece ... however .. we'll all patiently wait to see what these things look like

Maybe they are worth a crippling amount but with 150$ I would rather invest into something else, did anyone try to deal with the 07-S exhaust fitment on an 04-06?

I have been following this thread just for fun, I am not planning on replacing my tips. But you people that think you will be able to get a set of these for the $40 price point that you are hoping for are literally insulting this persons work.
If you had any idea what kind of skill working with this material requires and the amount of hand work that is required for each one of these in order to pull of the fit, finish and overall quality that you will demand you would not be making these kinds of comments.
Do you want a mass market product, or a one off custom piece? There is a reason why you do not get a custom piece at a mass market price. These craftsmen make their living with these skills do not insult them.

I went to the dealer last week for an oil change. While I was there, I checked out the TL-S and talked to one of the sales reps. He said the TL-S tips will not fit an '06. I didn't measure the widths of the tails but they did look a bit wide to fit an '06 OEM rear.

Please stick to the topic of this thread.
I will be getting the new sample in any day now hopefully if everything fits, I will be able to get these started! I also don't want to make any empty promises handed but just to clear up some confusion these will not be near the cost of 200$-300$ for tips, but neither will they be some $20 pep boys tips. That is the only number I can get so far without blurting out random numbers.
These are custom made tips with the fit of the TL stock muffler in mind, and also taking into consideration the least modification possible for the end-user.
Stay tuned.

2G TL's don't have the same bumper cut out for the exhaust tips so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Also, please post what you would feel a reasonable price is. It would be custom made, to fit the stock, or a-spec rear bumper.
