Can you provide links to the two things you are asking about for us to compare?

Looks to me like it could be a quality issue and based on the look of the flat ones, their manufacture appears to be more sophisticated. Who knows how they perform though. I put LED's into my TL but I got them elsewhere.

the first ones wont be as bright, but I think they'll be more bluish. the 2nd ones are actually 4 leds in one bulb. They'll put out quite a bit more light plus they are angled sideways which will point the light directly onto the license. Those might be too bright. My leds are fairly bright and its annoying when they kill the nightview of my reverse camera.

the more wattage they are the brighter. There is a 4 watt led which is super bright (ibelieve the brightest) but it gets extremely hot and can be used only in applications that wont be left on too long. I am using the 2 watt flank bulb in the license plate and it is by far the brightest i have seen (dont tell me about the cold cathose mod stuff, i know.) Take a look at this thread.

There are sooooooo much threads on LED's, you just have to sit and take the time to read all the threads and of course ALL THE PAGES!!!!! Hope this helps.
