Has anyone ever push started their MT TL? Does drive by wire have any affect.

 

Hopefully you mean being pushed by people and not be another vehicle. No, the drive by wire feature should have no impact on this.. do it much like you would with any other manual transmission. I would suggest using second gear and not first for this since first gear is quite a low ratio.

I have to believe he's asking for cases where the battery fails or a similar emergency. Couldn't imagine anyone doing this for the "fun" of it.

 

Correct. This thread was created with the moto "be prepared" in mind. Any other types of transmissions that can be started without a jump and a dead battery?

 

I've done it on a downhill roll a couple of times. I did have a low battery and had to do it at work on a flat parking lot...now problems there either, 1st gear worked best in that case.
