Thank you. Please let me details on what to get an how to replace. Car has 195,000 miles on it so upgrade if costs more then oem lights that worked good enough for me may not be wise.
Just buy the Osram HID OEM replacement bulb from Amazon; I paid @ $90 for a pair of the bulbs.
There are two ways to change the bulb-- removing the front bumper or turning the wheel and going in through the fender well liner for the passenger-side bulb.
I didn't want to remove the front bumper and went through the fender well liner; it took me over an hour because I was doing it by feel, and had difficulty putting the clip on the new bulb.
Agreed with the above. Definitely indicative of a bulb at the end of its working life. If you can do the work yourself you’ll save a good amount of money.
Every time I’ve changed a bulb I’ve always had my front bumper off doing other things like tweaking projectors and installing clear lenses, modifying the FGL and/or the shield.
Does anyone know if the OP can swap out the bulb by pulling back the fender liner? Can he reach the bulb from there? Problem with that is if the OP hasn’t been in there before it may be hard because of the screw that keeps the plastic protective shroud on.
I’ve used all kinds of bulbs and I just swapped out my CBI’s for a pair of CBB’s. I’m still stunned at how amazing they are. With clear lenses I outshine everything and there is intense color flicker (if you like that sorta thing). At $190 they ain’t cheap but if you’re throwing down the loot for CBI’s I would spend the extra money. Always best to replace in pairs as well. I bought mine at The Retrofit Source (TRS). Place is awesome.
If you’re already going through the process of changing a bulb you might as well change it out for something brighter and safer. I do a lot of night driving, sometimes in rural areas and the safety outweighs the cost.
Just remove the bumper, it's not that hard. I can't imagine fucking around with that security torx and the HID bulb (which needs to stay CLEAN) through the fender.

I'm 1000% with you on it.. removing the bumper sounds more tedious/scary/harder than it really is.
Thank u every one! What is a cbb bulb? I can't find it. I could find some videos on replacing the bulbs without removing the bumper.
I’m not sure where/what website that is but I can say that it is very easy to get ripped off with “fake” bulbs such as those posing to be Philips bulbs from Germany.
I should probably put out a disclaimer that I don’t work for TRS, don’t know anyone there and don’t get any perks from recommending them but I have ordered thousands of dollars of parts from them over the years and they are a very reputable company. The owner is usually frequenting the site too answering questions and offering advice.
I’m sure there’s a lot of people on Acurazine that could vouch for that as well. That being said, these are the bulbs I bought and I could not be happier. The new BMW’s and Mercedes that don’t have LED headlights generally use these as OEM:

Agreed. The bumper really isn’t that difficult to get off and put back on. It also offers you plenty of room for access to mostly anything.
From the work I’ve done on projectors I say later to the Torx screw and just cut a slot in it with my Dremel and, voila, instant flathead screw. Easy to manipulate with a little stubby screw driver but to each their own.
years ago I just twisted the cap until it actually tore off from the screw. Didn't know about the screw until i joined Acurazine. still don't know why its there. The cap screws in tight, never loosened in over a decade without the torx.

the bulb is probably on its way out, happened to me too
+1 for philips. the OEM bulbs were philips, so i stuck with the same brand. been running their xtreme visions for 4 years and they still work like they did on day 1
