I am likely going to be purchasing an 06 TL with Navi tomorrow. When the sales manager and I were running the numbers he showed me the cost with and without some sort of protection package they sell. He said it was regular ~$900 Cdn but the price was around $700.

Does anyone know about these packages and are they actually worth it or is it just the way for the dealer to make a little more money on the sale? I am leaning towards declining it but thought I would ask if anyon else had an opinion.

No he was talking about undercoat and leather protection. He did not give me the full details. He said another person would discuss it with me when we finalize the purchase.

 

They are probably trying to sell you stuff you do not need. The only post-purchase things I would consider are winter (rubber) floor mats, trunk tray or mud flaps.
