PS fluid leak?
Well, my power steering hose is leaking (I think). I live about 4 hours from the nearest Acura stealership. So, I have a couple of questions:
1. Is this the PS hose leak that is covered under a recall/warranty?
2. If so, is there a way that a Honda dealer could/would perform the work under the recall (there is a Honda dealer in my town)?
3. How hard is this to do myself in my garage (it's about 10 degrees F in there right now)?
4. If it's not too hard, how much does the part cost from a decent source (link to decent source would be much appreciated)?
Thank you very much IA, Dan.

That is what the recall is all about. You need to get it replaced. They should do it for free at the dealership. Just to be sure call them and give them your Vin number. They will tell you if your car is included in the recall or if it has already been completed... Good luck...

to answer your question.
1) Yes if you didn't already get it done (hint look for the tin foil wrap around the hose locate near the firewall.
2) Honda dealer won't do the work (yes I know right) they refuse since there is some thing have to do with how the dealer is billing to Honda HQ. I would just bring to an Acura dealer and have them fix it, BTW make sure you can get a loaner since Acura dealer kinda take their sweet ass time with these recall (mine took three days to complete).
3) The job take about 90 mins, it not easy as seem. You have to loose the rear motor mount and lift the motor up slightly to gain access to the other end of the hose that feed into your steering rack (there is a TSB about that in Garage so check it out if you are interested).
4) There isn't know a better source to buy part and prevent this happening, Honda just wrap the hose around with aluminum foil so if it leak it prevent drop into hot cat and start a fire other than that we don't know for sure if the new hose is better than the old one.
Eddit: It might depend on your Acura dealer about the recall, E.G in my case the dealer didn't ask for the VIN nor the recall letter (I have it at the time) but some member here has to hassle with the dealer to get the recall done.

Not true, it depends. Your Acura dealer and the Honda dealer have to agree to it. If so, then you will pay the Honda dealer up front and then mail the receipts to your Acura dealer for reimbursement. I've had several TSBs and the recall done up here at the Honda dealer in ND and I bought the car at Goodson Acura in Dallas.

nfnsquared- where in ND? I'm in Fargo. If I can possibly get this done in Fargo at the Honda dealer that would be worth a lot to me. Otherwise I would have to drive to MPLS. Thanks for all the replies!
