Question "Proper" installation of lip roof spoiler?

What I mean is, should I leave the gap between the window and the roof for drainage purposes, or should the spoiler be flush with the roof for aesthetic purposes? I've seen both examples, but I'm about to reinstall the spoiler with a application of Window-Weld and I want to know the general consensus.

The roof spoiler is the recent eBay one that slightly imitates the Sarona model, albeit smaller:

its up to you. whatever makes you happy. I just re-did mine, but I don't have the e-bay one. I tried the window weld and I had problems with it coming loose from the hot air. I think I finally found the right product for it. its been on there for about a week, and hasn't come loose yet.

i would leave a little gap only for the drainage....else the spoiler will start coming off from there.....

i installed it just where the drainage ends on all side and 44 7/8" being a perfect fit !!!

I looked at it both ways before installing mine and I decided that it looked better with the gap. I actually cut out card board strips from the box that it was shipped in, folded the strips in half, and then stuck them between the rear window and the roof to create the gap.

what is the best adhesive to put the roof spoiler on? 3m tape, or some glue product?

I'm leaning towards leaving that gap if only for the functionality of it. Thanks for everyone's input.
