price in new york

i was just at a dealer yesterday, and the only thing the man would say is "399 per month [27 months, zeero down for no navigation 2840 down for navigation), no bargaining room what so ever". so owners of acura tl's, is this true? My salesman said nothing is below that on long island. Anyone have a better deal in the area? thanks

That's the current numbers they've been using for a while on the 27 month package. They're pretty close to bottom but you can wiggle the right guy down to 393 which is what I did. Try Island Acura and email their rep. Tell him you'll do the deal right away at 390 or thereabout. A little competiton at the right dealer will put you in the car.

I got a great Deal

I dunno how those numbers are. But I purchased a 04 acura TL black with black interior, a-spec skirt kit and wing, and Navi for $28000 even. I put 20k cash down, and have a monthly payment of $209 a month for 5 years. I bought it at Acura Valley Stream in L.I.

So you're paying $209/month for 60 months? When you only owe $8000 left on the car after a $20000 down payment. Doesn't sound like a great deal to me.

It is a great deal i paid because 209x60=12540 plus the 20000 = 32540. THIS IS INCLUDING NY TAX AND THE INTEREST INCURRED BY THE 8000 dollar loan.
Price x NY Tax (28000 x 8.75% = 2450) so 28000 + 2450 = 30450
and 20000 + (209x60= 12540) is 32540 FINAL PRICE. I think it is a GREAT DEAL. Plus I wouldnt have to pay all the interest if i decide to pay it off fast. DO THE MATH BEFORE COMMENTING!
BTW my credit score is 788

Huh? If you can put $20K down, then you can probably also easily swing $28K with no payments. I/We just "don't get it"? So, your paying 5.75 on the $8K loan which seems like a good deal on a used vehicle rate. Seems simple enough but why finance that small amount at all?

if you read over his post again, ndabunka, then you'll see that there's 2450 tax... so if you take that out of 12540, then he's only paying 2000~ in finance charges. he got a used car, so he probably didn't get the best rates, but oh well, he's happy with it. that's all that matters. there's no reason to call him a financial idiot nor accuse him of lying.

I actualy edited the post prior to your message to "take the edge off" but I had already calcuated in the $2450 in taxes. So his $12,540 comes out to a little over $10K over 6 years is actually an interest rate higher than I threw out there. Probably more like 8% but my logic is still valid. Why finance so little and you should NEVER finance taxes. What's THAT all about? Isn't that illegal in many states?

Yes you are correct in assuming that i paid a higher interest rate. I don't know why it was so high, it was 6-and change percent. I could have paid the whole 28k cash, i have 50K in the bank to play with but my wife did not want to touch the money in the bank. So in actuality i took only 1k out of the account. I put 20k down, sold my 94 Twin turbo supra for 19k. I took 20k out the bank...purchased the TL....sold the Supra....put 19k back in the bank. Remember, the vehicle i purchased was deal due to the fact that it has the A-Spec skirt kit, wing, AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM, with XM radio already subscribed (prior owner was the daughter of the owner of Acura Valley Stream). And the vehicle has auto start.
BTW, i forgot to include those registration fees which were waved when i purchased the vehicle.
