Buy a portable gps for $500 or install a non-OEM for $1500. If you want to install an Acura OEM unit, it will be very expensive and labor intensive.

do most aftermarket ones fit into the place where the stock one sits?

No, do a search. If you are patient and talented you can do the install. Much easier to find one with navi if that's what you want imho.

I'm thinking of adding navi to mine, I'm just not too excited about the price of the OEM parts from the dealers; it easily exceeds $3,000 from what I've seen. I'll stick to the GPS on my Tablet PC for now.

I would have gotten my car with navigation, but I got the last NBP/Ebony 6-spd '06 available at the time in the area, there were none with navigation available. It seems in Michigan cars with navigation are less common than out west.

Remeber you will need all the new harnesses, the DVD drive in the trunk, the GPS antennas and a bit of electrical know how. It will cost over 3K for everything. Alot of members with non-navi TL's bash their heads against a wall when they realize that getting the navi TL was a better choice, most of these people go with carputer setups and some others just go the prtable gps route.

Agreed..although i dont use Navi THAT much i still regret making a desicion quickly and not getting it. I only got non-navi because they didnt have NPB/Camel with it It's going to be a hassle to put it in yourself or an aftermarket one that looks OEM. There is a guy in MD that would do a nice carputer install, it's around 2500. I have his info if you want it, PM me.

Just my opinion, but your better off just finding another car the same but with the factory NAV. NAV is awesome. Just spend another $1-2K on another car that already has it. Unless the car your looking at is CHERRY and a GREAT price.

I have been looking at the options for a car pc.. I know there are several different options and I just have not had much time to do the research needed. Once I decide on something my oem nav unit may be available for purchase :o ) but this is probably a couple months from happening.

Someone on these forums posted a pic of his with I beleive an Alpine unit installed. And it looks good.

If you replace the standard Radio head you can get the Pioneer Z2 which has everything you could want, but you loose the ELS 5.1 and this is not cheap.
