Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I did search and was unable to find an answer...

I'm new to the TL scene and have been looking around the forums about the tranny issues and preventative measures. I am going to be changing out my 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches as suggested. I am curious though why it is only recomended to change the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches. Why no mention of 1st 2nd or 5th pressure switches? Do they not exist? Is there just a much lower failure rate for them?

1 and second not actuated by pressure switch.. so I have read.. might wanna search

the reason for the Acura TL (possibly other Honda V6) transmission 3rd/4th gear clutch pack problem is the pressure switches going bad, causing an engagement pressure related shudder, and eventually burn the clutch pack.

Hope this helps. I had to do a little search .. and i couldn't find a good explanation about these pressure switches.
