Pot Holes
I live in South Tampa and the roads I travel around the area are horrible. I try to avoid them when I can, but when I do drive on them, I know exactly where to point the car to miss the bad spots. I always wonder what people behind me think as a swerve all over the road to miss them! If it were a police officer, they would probably pull me over under suspicion of driving under the influence.
I wrote a letter (email) to the City of Tampa asking that they repave, or at least repair, certain roads. They replied (surprisingly) that either the roads were schedule for repaving in 2016 or that they couldn't repave the roads because of the aging utilities running underneath of them (these roads, btw, are Cleveland and Platt, for those that live here).
I often times find that the repairs (patching) are just as worse than the hole that got patched. They don't seem to be able to get the patch smooth and at the same level as the surrounding road surface; so instead of hole you now have a mound that harshly bounces the car.
Poor roads are my biggest pet peeve with the City. I understand there are financial constraints and budget issues, but crappy roads need to be fixed.
My folks were up from Sarasota one day visiting. I was driving them and my family down Cleveland St (to eventually get to Dale Mabry Hwy) in our Sienna minivan when my mom chimed in and said, "Boy, your roads are atrocious here" - I couldn't agree with her more.
Anyway, enough of my ranting - if only I put this much time and effort into my work!!!

I agree with the BS fixing they do. They just glob the new asfault on and that's it. No smoothing or nothing so you have a mini speed bump instead of a hole. Really annoying. I'll have to take pics of this thing right down my road, it's supposed to be a smooth speed bump but it's like a small cliff.
^ Those are the worst, when the road drops 8 inches for no apparent reason. It's pretty much impossible to tell how deep they are.
Here's an interesting solution:

That would be so nice. I'll take pics of this stupid thing and try to take a vid. It's crazy, some people just haul ass over it and you swear the wheels are just gonna fall off.
