Porshe Cayenne Turbo

Few days ago, I ran against one of these, not in my TL-S, but in my G35c 6 speed.
As I am sitting at the light, this nice ass Cayenne Turbo stops next to me, I was like "nice car man". When the light turned green, he stomped the gas and left me few bus length behind. I didn't expect to race him, so I didn't like his ricer move. I flashed my lights, surprisingly, he slowed down.I catched him, dropped into 3rd, turned off Vsc. Race started at 45mph and ended at over 100 mph. I was a good car length in front of him. This guy gave me a huge thumbs up and left. Later on I checked the stats on his car and couldn't believe those things run 13.7 1/4 mile.
Btw those things sound crazy when at WOT.

Wow, you started in 3rd gear at 45mph and you were still able to pass him, must be a pretty quick G35.

nothing out of ordinary, just 6 speed, 1/2 inch manifold spacer, short ram intake with K&N filter.

A quick look at C&D tells us that Cayenne Turbo with 480hp does the 1/4mile in 13.5@104mph. G35c with a good driver can see over 100mph too, and the OP's car is modded slightly. If the Cayenne's carrying more stuff than usual,or the response of OP was faster, that was enough to make up for the speed difference.

seems like those times are for Turbo S 13.5 at 107 , I've seen regular turbo on dragtime.com running 13.8 at 102. I can say that this race was fair, he slowed down for me and actually raced all the way to over 100mph, falling one car behind. P.S.The one I raced was a Turbo 2004 - 2006 with 450 bhp.

yea, 450hp model can do 13.5@104mph, assuming Porsche didn't give car and driver a "special car"....lol...good kill nonetheless!

Something went very wrong here for the Porsche. If OP hit it in 3rd gear at 45, the Porsche should've walked away authoratively.

yea you couldve been in 2nd for couple more hundred RPMS. but he could have also started at 3rd which is why you beat him also considering the turbo lag if that car has any. Also weight should play a huge factor g35c is 3500-3600 while the porsche is at a whopping 5000lbs+.

Try a couple more thousand.......and then some. At 45mph, you're only halfway through 2nd gear. Weight is insignificant when you've got the HP and torque to move it. 3600/~280hp vs 5200/450 or 480hp, Cayenne has a much more favorable power to weight ratio either way. And all Cayennes are automatics, so if he floored it, it downshifted.

Was it the V10? I'd shoot myself if I was the M5 driver.

lol yup!! It was a long long time ago, like last year I think. And there was a huge debate too. But at the end of day, the M5's driver simply sucked and probably didn't even use the 500hp mode.
