Poor Sunglass Holder

What a poor job with the design of the so-called sunglass holder. My 2002 TL-S had a velour lined compartment just in front of the sunroof. 3 yrs and the same pair of shades never got a scratch while being stored there.

Yeah...I think it's a poor design too..my Oakley's don't even fit so I just took it out for more space. Never really liked the one in the 2002 TL either, glasses didn't fit in there either. I use the space in the center console, and even though they rattle around in there, they fit fine and are out of the way.

The roof mounted holder is much nicer than the one in the door. IMO, the one in the door is lame.

They just snap in and are easily removed. I took both of mine out and keep my glasses in an eyeglass case in the door compartment. Easy to get to, no rattles, and they are protected when not in use. Here in Florida I wear sunglasses most of the time, but have clear lens glasses for when they are needed.

Ron, were you the one who did the epoxy fix for the headliner we spoke of in earlier posts? Is it still holding?

I lay my glasses on the gear shifter console around the gear shifter. Seems like the perfect place to me. I flip the glasses up side down and have the lenses facing to the back of the car, while the 'arms' of the sunglasses are fully opened and parallel with the side of the console. They fit as snug as a bug in a rug.

It's a bummer the car doesn't have a nice holder, but this seems far more convenient for me. (I have a 6MT, not sure how it works for the AT folks)

That was me. Still holding tight. And no grease marks on the headliner from some sloppy mechanic.

It's a little compartment at the back of the door compartment. And yes it can be snapped on and off.

LOL! That's supposed to hold sunglasses? I'll give it a whirl. I tried moving the coinholder to that location but I didn't like it so I moved it back. I wish the coin holder would accomodate canadian one and two dollar coins.
