Poor Leather quality

I have a 07 TL WDP/Taupe that 14k miles and over the past few months have noticed that the Armrest has developed a rough area, and loss of color where my elbow touches the arm rest (acid man huh??) I've had several TL's and never experienced similar problems. Since the car is under warranty, I'll see if Acura will replace the armrest. I had a cover made to protect the arm rest for the time being but it's ugly as hell!!!.

My wife has an 04 WDP/Parchment and the leather in her car seems better than the 07.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

I have the same problem in my 06 with parchment. I've had the front seat leather replaced under warranty and it's starting to fade again, I think i'm just going to buy a seat cover. I noticed my rear seat is starting to fade as well.

How often are you conditioning the seats? I usually do the bolster area every 2 weeks since they take the most beating, the rest is once a month. No problems for me yet.

J/K. It means using a leather conditioner like Lexol Leeather Conditioner and making sure they stay "conditioned," i.e. do not dry out and crack, which tends to be a problem with leather.

Believe it or not, the acura leather seems crappy because it is real full grain leather. Leather will wear and develop wrinkles like your face. If the leather is fading, that is a problem in the dying process as the leather is sealed to keep the dye in. If it is getting cloudy, then it might be just the dirt from you body on there. If you live in hot areas, once a month condition (lexol/leatherique, good trusted brands) and clean once every 3 months (woolite soultion, lexol, trusted stuff). Whatever you do, do NOT use ARMORALL, that shit will eat though your leather in the TL.

The seats are terrible. I have had the leather bottom on the drivers side replaced because the perforated part actually wore thru and now it is starting again. I condition monthly too
