I need some input on whether if I should replace my hanging plastic underbody cover on my '04 WDP....I am not too sure how it got stripped from the screws in the front part and now it is hanging. My car was on a tow truck lift one time and I wonder if he ripped it while lifting up the car...What is the purpose of the cover? Is it for protecting the oil pan? I know the cover rubbed the ground alittle when I hard brake last night when an a-hole in front of me having some fun with me by going real slow and kept on braking on and off. Thanks! Sam

Do you mean the plastic that scrapes sometimes when you go up a ramp/driveway, etc? That is the air dam. It pushes the air up. Our TL is a bottom breather.
Do a search on air dam/air reflector.

How hard did you have to brake to able to scrape that? Or was it hanging already? Try to post a pic on how low it's hanging.

It is not the black plastic piece that under the air dam, the piece I was talking is underneath the oil pan...I really think it is for protecting the engine oil pan or to improve underbody aerodynamic.....

There isn't a cover under the oil pan.
There is one under the trans. though. Is this what your talking about?
If so, how did it get ripped off, it's bolted up and has a metal holder bracket?
