Plastic dash cover effective?

Plastic dash cover effective?
I have a question regarding the plastic dash cover for the tl dashboards and if they are durable enough to be considered a good investment. I've seen many to owners use the carpet dash cover to cover the damage on their dashboards but I find carpet on top of the dash to make the interior look out of place and cheap. So is let me know guys. Is the the plastic dash cover a good choice for a dash cover, or will it eventually end up cracking in extreme cold weather conditions as the TL's factory dashboard? Photos of them in your cars would be appreciated.

There are pictures of the Coverlay dash cover in several threads.
There is a video of the Coverlay on a TL at post #6 of the thread at: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...r-dash-966260/.
