I didn't know you plasti dipped your grill..... I'll have to check it out some time. I did my emblems the other day. My son commented on how nice they turned out. After seeing my rims, he want's to do his on his S2000.

Looks good gatr

That's one of the things I like about this product. You can redo or touch up at any time.

This is totally random lol but are those 6000k or 8000k headlights? Also love the end result, looks clean. Thinking about doing this in a few days.

They all should be 6k. Switchbacks, HID and DRl but they look really blue.

I replaced 8k with these 6k but doesn't look like it. But that pic is just DRL and switchbacks.

I got other pics with fogs and DRL and with HID, SB and Fogs around here somewhere.

I just got the 3k bulbs couple months ago and that was the first time I turned them on lol. I put yellow overlays on around xmas time.

As far as the housings? They have 31,800 miles on them lol. I am not really happy how they are holding up honestly. The chrome strips inside seem like they are not holding well.

Car stays in the garage unless I am driving it so no. lol

I use the coin op pressure washer to spray off bugs and stuff though. I just stay about 12" or so away to get big stuff and then brush - sponge off the little stuff gently. Dry off and go.

Been holding up pretty good.

Has anyone tried clear coating this? Not only to add protection but also to make it have a glossy look. Been thinking of doing the 3M Dinoc carbon fiber vinyl on the grill (did my interior) but this seems to be a viable route and I've played with plastidip in the past. With having my a-spec kit color matched to the car I don't think I'd be a fan of having my grill a matte black.

^^^ Sean, the makers of Plasti-dip also makes a product called glossifier. This goes over Plasti dip and makes a nice glossy finish. Check out dipyourcar.com they have a lot of cool products there.

first attempt at doing this was an epic fail. took my bumper off as I was changing a foglight, so I figured why not....did it last night in my garage, I was wondering what temperature you all did your spraying because mine came out all rough and ratchet-looking. it was probably around 40 degrees. I watched the videos of the guy spraying the r8 on dipyourcar and it didnt go nearly as smoothly as his..tomorrow I think Im going to try again just taping it off like they did on the website and see how it goes when it is 70 degrees and sunny.

If this helps, I did the stock rims black.
And a combination of red and black on the grill.
It was 42 degrees outside.

That looks incredible. On any non black car, doing the whole thing black except for the caliper and/or ring around the caliper looks best. I'm also jealous of the deeper grille on the '07-08; looks much better.

I decided to do a test run with it on my grill and emblems. Waiting for the final coat to dry. Looks good so far! Hopefully it will hold up pretty well.

Using Plast-dip as a base worked well too! Few coats of that, then NBP spray can, and then clear!
